What you get

A docket you can read in five minutes.

Each week we check 10 agenda systems across seven jurisdictions: Legistar, PDF dockets, Agenda Online, OLIS and the DC Office of Zoning. We pull every land-use item and write it up the same way.

01

What decides soon, first

Hearings and votes in the next 14 days, by week and jurisdiction, with the body, date and time. Deferrals and withdrawals are flagged.

02

The key fact up front

Units, square feet, acres, address and case number for every item, so you can scan for what matters to your pipeline.

03

Staff reports, read

For the biggest cases: the program, the staff recommendation and the issues that will come up at the hearing. Every line links to its source.

Continuing care facility of about 825,000 square feet in three towers, 7581 Colshire Drive

PCA-2011-PR-011-005 · 7581 Colshire Drive McLean, VA 22102 · 825,000 sq ft

The applicant and co-applicant ask to amend the original concept development plan and proffers, and to establish a final development plan amendment, for the Taylor Block of Scotts Run Station South. The request would allow a continuing care facility of roughly 825,000 square feet in three towers. This meeting is a public hearing on the request.

From the staff report
Staff recommends approval
  • Staff regrets losing approved office sites near Metro but finds office stays a predominant use across Scotts Run South; the plan shows about 831,000 SF versus the 848,100 SF requested.
  • Chain Bridge Road/Colshire Drive intersection is a four-way stop with community safety concerns; applicant agreed to an earlier signal warrant study and to install a signal if warranted.
  • Staff still wants the Circulator proffer revised to coordinate on a bus shelter, and says the 546 parking spaces overpark the site (about 320 needed under the ordinance) and encourages a lower supply.
